Alex Burt - Bethlehem, GA

image of sports outreach

My name is Alex Burt. I am married to a wonderful woman named Kim and we have two children.  Kaitlyn is 27 and Luke is 22. God found it in His mercy to save me in 1997 and I almost immediately felt the need to take the Gospel of Jesus outside the four walls of the church.  I remember hearing an old preacher say: “I hear all these young preachers complaining about not having anywhere to preach! Last time I checked, there was still a sidewalk out there!”

Although I didn’t realize it at the time, something was triggered inside me. Then God really messed up my “normal” Christian life when I ran across Ray Comfort and his teaching, “Hell’s Best Kept Secret”. After hearing that sermon and listening to it many times I knew God was calling me to open-air evangelism and before I knew it, I was outside our local Courthouse the first Saturday of every month preaching.

That was 24 years ago and ever since I have been reaching out to people with the Gospel, through Gospel literature, one-on-one conversations, and through open-air proclamation in public areas. The ministry has reached people from Alabama to Arizona and going on 14 years now in Georgia.  Although I do travel to events in other areas, downtown Athens and outside Sanford stadium before Georgia football games are the main ministry locations.

First and foremost, a follower of Christ.  Secondly, husband to Cindy (married 5 years now).  Third, father to Elijah (born 11/19/18).  And fourthly, in my spare time, I love to sound my Master's Trumpet.

In my former life, was a college strength and conditioning coach and then had my own fitness business for 7 years.  At the age of 32, answered a full time call to vocational ministry by becoming an intern at our local church.

Our philosophy of ministry is pretty simple:  always ready to preach, pray or die.  From the neighborhoods to the nations, may God's Name be great amongst every tribe, tongue and nation!

David Day - Montgomery, AL

image of what is evangelism

My Name is David Day and the Lord gave me eyes to see some years ago my need for Him. The moment I could see, He has been shaping and fashioning me into more of His image and allowing me to share His message with many in my city and elsewhere. In 2014, the Lord allowed my wife and our children to begin doing this work full-time, with the opportunity to labor in China, London, a few Super Bowl's, but our love is right here in Montgomery where I spend most of my time outside the local abortuary, but we will preach where ever the door would become open. We have a few universities in town as well as Auburn where we participate each with with Bill and the SFOI1000 preaching at each Auburn home game.

My family and I are members of Morningview Baptist Church here in Montgomery where at this moment I serve as an active deacon. Praise the Lord for His faithfulness.

Pat Hegarty - Fort Collins, CO

image of what is evangelism

Patrick Hegarty – Born September 1957 – Born into the Kingdom of God September 1976 – I grew up in a fairly strict and traditional family in Denver, Colorado. Along with my three sisters and two brothers and numerous cousins; I was raised in the Roman Catholic tradition. We attended Mass on a weekly basis and Parochial schools from 1st through 8th grade and then I attended a Jesuit High School until graduation in 1975. It was a fairly typical upbringing for a kid of the baby boom generation born in the late 1950s. Our lifestyle was not lavish but comfortable. I don’t remember much of the religious instruction that came from my parents, though no doubt they tried to give it. My understanding was that Jesus died to give us a second chance to earn His favor by our good deeds. The thought of being a basically good person had always been something of a comfort to me regardless of all the bad things done in my life. It was never too hard to find someone who was actually worse than me, at least in my mind. Still, sometimes the undeniable sense of guilt would make me wonder. Unbeknownst to me a radical change was coming. See the rest of the story here:

Heath Pucel - Green Bay, WI

image of Great Commission

My name is Heath Pucel. I’ve been married 18 years a wonderful wife who keeps me humble. I live in Green Bay Wisconsin, and have a passion for teaching, training and preaching the Word through various means as an evangelist, Sunday school teacher, small group leader, itinerant preacher. I grew up in church and was a false convert for much of his life. Having made a profession of faith at age 5 and though I was saved lived my life with very little change for holiness. Made several dedications after worldly sorrow but not true change of heart. Yet even in my false conversion and learning on works righteousness had a passion for studying and teaching God’s word.

In 2003, the Lord through his mercy brought me to repentance in faith through Jesus Christ and lit a fire for evangelism as well as continuing to use his gift of teaching for the Lord though the ministry of Living Waters. Since then, I’ve had a desire and burden to share the Gospel in Green Bay, around the country and abroad. My past experience with evangelism has opened up opportunities for me to attend outings such as: 2008 Ambassadors Academy #3, 9 Super Bowl Outreaches, several SFOI events: Kentucky Derby, final four Outreaches, OAC SET, several campus outreaches at ASU, UW Stevens Point, Madison and Oshkosh campuses. Numerous local events such as Walleye weekend, Wisconsin State Fair, Jehovah’s Witness conventions, and Green Bay Packer Games.

Since 2017, I have been a participant an ardent supporter of the Simeon Trust Workshops on Bible Expositions. I have a conviction for exhorting and encouraging others to commit and pursue expository preaching, which has transformed my open air and pulpit preaching. In 2020, with the passion, talents and gifts provided by God in teaching and studying Gods word; I trained the 2020 GWP with the Simeon Trust model of the first principles in Bible Exposition. I continued partnering with SFOI to provide Open Air Preaching Bible Exposition workshops encouraging preachers to commit in expository preaching in the Open air and train them to make progress in in that commitment.

God has given me the privilege in ministry to meet up with faithful saints locally and across the country to labor and minister His word in the open air as well as lead outreach teams with all praise, glory and honor to His name.

Andy Schmelzer - Bandon, OR

image of evangelistic outreach

Andy grew up Catholic but at a very young age knew something was missing. As a teen, siblings shared the good news in an ask Jesus in your heart kind of way. This he embraced and lived as a false convert until the Lord granted him repentance about the age of 35. He and his wife learned biblical evangelism in 2004 stumbling across WOTM TV show. Since then evangelism for them was forever changed.

He with his wife started Fishers of Men Medical Ministries and did overseas evangelical/medical missions from 2003-2011 and has since then focused on local evangelism in their immediate area and around the US. He looks forward to serving Bill and the team members that the Lord will put together through prayer at the upcoming SBO.  This will be Andy’s 11th SBO and 6th time as a team leader.

Now that Andy and Victoria have moved back to Oregon residing in Bandon, the UofO will be Andy’s weekly fishing hole this the fall as well as the Wednesday local farmers market and festivals. May God rise up more laborers to join the harvest.

Mark Yoho - Sugar Valley, GA

image of evangelistic outreach

Mark was raised in a non-Christian home in Canton Ohio with a little exposure to Roman Catholicism. Upon Graduation from High school in 1983 he served 3 years active duty military in the US Army. Shortly after discharge, the Nation being in an economic recession, Mark moved to the Atlanta Georgia area seeking employment.

There he met the love of his life and they lived together for 10 years. Through alcohol, drugs, and the pursuit of personal wealth Mark suffered the loss of family and all of his possessions. It was during this time that Mark walked into Newtown Baptist Church in Calhoun GA and heard Pastor David Ray preach a sermon titled, “You must be born again.” As soon as the invitation was given Mark met Pastor Ray in the altar where he repented of sin and trusted CHRIST as his personal Savior. On March 29, 1998 Mark Yoho was born again and life began to radically change. Mark began to share his newfound faith in CHRIST immediately and continued to make it a lifestyle.

Seven months later GOD restored his relationship with the love of his life, he and Gynnette were finally and forever married. Four years later, February 17, 2002, GOD called Mark to preach as an evangelist. As an evangelist Mark has traveled all across the US conducting evangelistic outreaches, teaching evangelism, and preaching revivals. Much of the evangelistic outreaches have been in the inner city and at major events. Since December 1, 2007 Mark has served GOD as a full time vocational evangelist in his own ministry, the Fourth Watch Evangelistic Ministry www.fourthwatchministry.com.

Mark and Gynnette live in the little community of Sugar Valley, nestled in the mountains of North Georgia. They have two married children and two grandchildren. Their home church is Sugar Valley Baptist Church in Sugar Valley, GA.
